Rock Springs Historical Museum
201 B Street in downtown Rock Springs (307) 362-3138

Located in the 1894-95 City Hall, the most imposing exhibit of the museum, the building itself, houses a variety of long term and temporary exhibits. Restored in 1991, the building offers a sense of 1890s Rock Springs’ pride at its growth and survival along the major East-West corridor. The history on display covers cowboys, outlaws, railroading, ethnic diversity, labor issues and, underneath it all, coal. Coal brought the Union Pacific Railroad, which, in turn, imported a great variety of workers. The museum is open year round, Monday through Saturday. Call for hours. Admission is free.
